Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she has the record of being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at the age of six. Later, she would become Romania's gymnastics coach. The first time she competed was at the national junior championships in which she was 13th place in the year 1969. In the year 1970, she won. In her very first international contest in 1972, she won the event having won three golds. When she competed for the first time as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals as well as one silver. She was the first female ever to successfully perform a backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol's first job was in entertainment during her teenage year. At the age of a girl she started her career as an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. They featured ice skating shows with theatrical shows.
